Why using Anti-sepsis Display Cover Glass?

With the recurrence of COVID-19 in the past three years, people have higher demand for a healthy lifestyle. So, Saida Glass has successfully given the antibacterial function to the glass, adding a new function of antibacterial and sterilization on the basis of maintaining the original high light transmission and waterproof of the glass, etc.

The increase of this function has greatly improved and enhanced our living environment. At the same time, it also makes it possible to achieve comprehensive antibacterial engineering in medical, health and home appliance industries.

The following highlights two types of antimicrobial glass from Saide Glass. 

1. Sprayed Antibacterial Glass

Using spraying technology, the antibacterial solution is sintered on the glass surface at high temperature and firmly attached to the glass surface to achieve the purpose of permanent antibacterial coating, which is the coated antibacterial glass. As visible light falls on the coated surface, it activates the unique Intelligent Surface technology which reacts with moisture in the air to form reactive oxygen species.

These agents constantly attack and destroy the harmful bacteria then encounter, leaving a super hygienic, germ free surface.

This type is suitable for glass with 3mm and above that is physically/thermal tempered and can bear temperatures up to 700°C.

2. Ion Exchange Antimicrobial Glass

Through the ion exchange process, the glass is immersed in potassium nitrate molten salt, and under high temperature conditions, the potassium ions are ionically replaced with the sodium ions in the glass surface components, while the silver and copper ions are implanted into the glass surface, and its antibacterial effect is the same as that of tempering, unless the glass is broken, the antibacterial glass will not disappear due to changes in human use, environment, time and other factors.

It is suitable for chemically strengthened glass and can withstand high temperature up to 600°C.
